Partner country

Sándor Farkas, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Karima Kabbaj, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Hungary announced at a press conference that Morocco will be OMÉK’s partner country in 2019.

It was announced that Morocco can also be regarded as a cornerstone of Hungary’s relations with African countries, especially as a result of its prestigious position in agricultural production, research and education. External agricultural trading is one of the key areas in the two countries’ bilateral cooperation, which will hopefully be enhanced by participating at the exhibition.

With regard to attending the exhibition, Karima Kabbaj, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Hungary said: In 2008, Morocco launched its Green Strategy and became one of the largest job providers in agriculture and in 10 years the output of this sector grew from 7.3% to 17.3% in the country. The ambassador said that the visitors to the exhibition will have a chance to learn about the country’s gastronomical specialties, e.g. olive oil or fishing products, but cultural programmes will also be offered.
